After NaNoWriMo and continued stories.

I wrote A Drug called Freedom of Nation Novel Writing Month. Which I planned in depth in October, I did character profiles, a story line and a writing diary, the writing diary recorded how I felt the story was going. But the most important part of it was the character profile because I planned on writing a back story for each character. Although A Drug called Freedom shows the adult characters, I wanted to show a path to getting to be the adults they are.

The first one I decided to start with was A Drug called Honour, with a u because I am English ahaha. This follows the childhood of Jake who is the main character partner A Drug called Freedom. This might all seem a bit of a mess but it make sense in my head. I wanted to give you a little snippet of A Drug called Honour which I wrote a few days ago.

***************************************************************************************************************************

Like I care, I thought as my French teacher lectured me about being late. She did this all the time. I had my reasons but I couldn’t tell her instead I had to wait for the principle to come and lecture me some more. Then they would send me home. How convenient.

This wasn’t like I planned though. A slim, tall English woman suddenly walked into the office and approached me “You need to be in my office, not the principles,” She said in a soft English accent. This was not what usually went down.

As I pulled my chair up to her desk she smiled at me “Oh Jake, I really had to pull some strings to bail you out of that one,” she said before sitting down.

“What did she make you do?” I snorted, not like I was bothered, I was out of trouble and that’s all I cared about. “I agreed to go on a date with her bother,” the new guidance consoler admitted. I chocked, why would she do that to keep me out of trouble?

“I had a very long phone conversation with your mother earlier, she told me that you don’t find rules easy to follow and that you are clever but lazy,” She continued “I am Miss Dolton; I am part of a program which swops guidance consolers about to help them gain knowledge and your guidance consoler couldn’t wait to see the back of you,”

“Good, she never shut up,” I said as Miss Dolton inhaled.

“She did look like a bit of a witch,” She giggled but then there was a knock at the door. My dark, handsome older brother had come to find me; he was a cop and usually came to get me when I was in trouble.  It saved me getting ear ache from my parents. Miss Dolton simply ignored his usually mystifying charms and said “Take a seat officer,” Ladies usually fell at the feet of Dean, what was wrong with this woman?

“I was just explaining to your brother the consequence of his actions,” she said to him and even he was baffled by her ability to talk to him like a normal human. “Sorry Mam, I will just take him home,” My bother replied in his usual charming voice but it still didn’t seem to enchant Miss Dalton.

“That won’t be necessary officer, instead Jake is going to spent an hour after school ever Wednesday and Friday talking to me about how he feel and getting his grades to where they should be,” she chipped. My older brother gave me a look what said ‘What’s with this chick?’ and I shrugged.
